Alphabetical Order
The Alphabetical Order program displays in random order the 26 letters of the alphabet in both upper and lower case.
The aim is to click on the letters in alphabetical order. When a letter is selected, its sound may optionally be heard.
When the correct letter is selected its background turns green, it disappears and reapprears in the top half of the window.
If the selected letter is not in alphabetical order, its background briefly turns red and then returns to white.
When all the letters have been correctly selected, the success message is displayed and optionally heard.
An overall success rating of up to five stars may be displayed - points are deducted each time a wrong letter is selected (i.e. its background displayed red).
The puzzle may be repeated by selecting the New Game option from the
File
menu. The pieces will again be randomly displayed.
The normal sound for the letter Z is 'zed' , if you would prefer the sound to be 'zee', please e-mail your request for this version.
A special version, using the arrow and enter keys, is available for
students
who find mouse control difficult.
