Element Pairs
This program gives practice in learning common elements and their symbols.
Ten elements are randomly selected from 25 common elements and displayed together with their symbols in rectangles with a white background. The student must click on the name of an element or symbol, the background of which will turn green. The student must then click on the matching symbol or element.
If the correct item is selected, its background briefly turns green before both green rectangles disappear. To reinforce the correct answer, the element and symbol pair are displayed in a rectangle with a yellow background. This disappears and the student must select another element or symbol.
If the wrong item is selected, its background briefly turns red before being restored to white.
When all ten element pairs have been correctly matched, a success rating message is displayed. The student is then invited to try another set of ten elements.
