What's the Symbol
This program gives practice in learning common elements and their symbols.
Ten elements are randomly selected from 25 common elements and the elements are displayed one at a time. The student must type the element's symbol and then click on the OK button.
If the answer is correct, a tick will briefly display beside the answer before the next element is displayed.
If the wrong answer is entered, a cross will briefly display and the student is given another chance to enter the answer. After three wrong attempts, the correct answer is displayed and the student is allowed to move on to the next element. The answers are case sensitive, so the character(s) of the element symbol must be typed in the correct case.
When the symbols for all ten elements have been entered, a success rating message is displayed. The student is then invited to try another set of ten elements.
