Make a Sentence

This program uses a text file prepared by the tutor, using a text editor such as Notepad. The first line of the file contains the title of the data set; the remaining lines each contain a sentence punctuated as necessary by commas and terminated by a full stop.  Instructions for preparing additional text files are included in the program's Help menu.

The program randomly displays the words of the sentence in yellow and in lower case. The aim is to select the words in the right order to re-form the sentence. The currently selected word has a cyan frame. A word is selected by clicking on it with the mouse, or by using the arrow  keys to move the frame and the enter key to select the word.

When the correct word is selected, it turns grey and is also displayed in yellow at the bottom of the screen, in its proper case with punctuation. A point is scored for each correctly selected word, but one point is deducted for each wrong selection. When all the words in the sentence have been correctly selected, a green tick is displayed. After a brief interval the next jumbled sentence is displayed.

When all the sentences in a set have been correctly selected, a success rating of up to five stars is displayed. The congratulation message is displayed and the student is invited to work through another data set.
